Rome is a fabulous place to visit, with so much history to be absorbed. There’s the ruins of the Ancient Roman Empire, the old palaces and churches, and the wonders of St Peter’s and the Vatican Museum. Last time I was staying in Rome, however, the accommodation options weren’t that great. Most prices were high and most cheaper places rather dreary. Next time, I’ll consider staying in one of these fabulous Airbnb bargains in Rome. Check them out for your next visit.
If you’re new to Airbnb, sign-up with this link to get a $50 AUD (approx. $39 USD) discount on your first stay of $100 AUD (approx. $80 USD) or more (ex. fees & taxes)! (Note: I’ll also get a $30 AUD credit, thanks!)
A Charming Apartment in Historical Trastevere
This charming apartment is located in the historical district of Trastevere. Located across the River Tiber from the main part of Rome, Trastevere is well known for its wonderful bars and cafes, away from the main tourist districts. Most of the streets are still cobblestones, including the historic Via del Moro, that this apartment looks out onto. With charming high ceilings with wooden beams, an open feel, plus a bathroom with a full bath tub, this apartment is a wonderful home away from home. It has room for up to 3 guests (double bed plus a sofa bed). A welcome pack is also provided on arrival (including tea, coffee and biscuits). From $72 USD per night (plus Airbnb service fee), with a variable minimum night stay.
A Private Room near the Trevi Fountain
A delightful sunny private room with doors opening up on to a terrace, this B&B is located near the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. Plus it’s in walking distance to most of central Rome. Located in an historic building (Bourbon-artom), this B&B is run by the sweet Anna. Anna provides an Italian breakfast of coffee and pastries each morning and is very accommodating despite her limited English. A big room with room for 2 people, with a private bathroom with a shower. It also has a TV and has air-conditioning, much needed for the Italian summer. Rates are from $72 USD per night for 1 guest (plus Airbnb service fee), plus an extra $22/night after the first guest.
A Funky Apartment near the Colosseum
Italy is just as famous for its modern funky design aesthetic (think Alessi and Dolce e Gabbana), as it’s historical buildings and artworks. This apartment is the perfect way to experience some of that Italian funkiness whilst staying in Rome. Located near the Colosseum (which you can literally see down the street), and with a metro station only 300m away, its centrally located for your own Roman holiday. Accommodating up to 3 guests, the apartment has a modern bathroom, wi-fi and TV. Plus there’s a mini kit for breakfast. From $66 USD per night (plus about $39 USD cleaning fee and Airbnb service fee), with a 3 night minimum.
