Resources

Looking to book a trip soon?

I’ve gathered together here all my recommended resources that I have for booking your trip. These are all resources that I regularly make use of when I’m travelling, or have been highly recommended to me, and I don’t hesitate to recommend them to you!

Note that with most of these companies, I have signed up as an affiliate. This means that at no additional cost to you, I earn a commission, if you make a purchase or sometimes even a search. (I made the decision that you, my readers, would prefer less of advertisements appearing in posts, and to instead have them gathered together here.) So, by using these links, you’ll also be supporting the continuation of this website.

Thanks and have an amazing trip!

Hotels & Hostels

My number one resource when booking accommodation, no matter whether it’s a luxury hotel or something more affordable, is TripAdvisor. While you can’t trust every review 100%, it gives me a good idea what to expect, and any gotchas.

Hotels.com Destination Inspiration: Not sure where to go? You've come to the right place!

My favourite site for booking hotels is Hotels.com. It’s quick and easy to use, and with most hotels you can earn nights, which you can then redeem for a free stay after 10 nights!

Book Hostels Online Now

Hostelworld has a great variety of budget accommodation. It’s not just hostels: I’ve also booked to stay in a boutique hotel in Zanzibar and glamping in hammocks in Hawaii! The reviews from previous guests are a great resource, too.

House Sitting

I haven’t done any house sitting for a while, and previously used an Australian only house sitting site, but have been recommended these two sites that have global coverage. If you’re looking to stay somewhere for a while, check out what opportunities may be available and then sign up.

Day Tours

Urban Adventure Tours

One of my favourite tour companies is Intrepid, partially because I can travel in a small group and I don’t feel either too old or too young (as someone in my 30s). They also offer day trips through Urban Adventures, with everything from food tours to bike rides to visits to the essential sights, which are great for either side of a tour.

What else do I need to say about Amazon except for they have an amazing range, not just books? In particular, they offer lots of great travel gadgets.
