There is no shortage of well-priced Airbnbs to rent in Bangkok. The majority of Airbnbs here are apartments in high-rise buildings for under $50 USD per night, complete with modern decor and roof-top swimming pools – a welcome addition in the humid climate! But what if you want something different, a little more unique? I’ve dug out some more interesting Airbnbs in Bangkok to stay in, all still under $50 USD per night and with excellent recommendations from past guests.

A Hip B&B in Klongsan
Located outside of the centre of Bangkok in the Klongsan neighborhood, J. No 14 is a family-run B&B in an old brick building with ample hipster cred. With its old brick walls, antique furnishings, a central almost-outdoor living room in which to meet other guests, and a small resident dogs and cats who would love to have a cuddle, it has a homely, welcoming feel. There’s 9 separate listings to choose from, including the no. 1 listing (scroll down for links to the other rooms). It’s 300 metres from the BTS station, 600 metres from Chaopraya river pier and next door to a 7 Eleven, ATM and street kitchen. There’s no minimum stay, and a night’s stay including breakfast is around $44 USD in any room (plus Airbnb service fee), plus there’s a 15% discount for weekly stays.

A Stay at the Mustang Nero
One aspects that really stands out in reviews of the Mustang Nero B&B are the comments about how quiet and relaxing it is, despite being only 150m from the Phra Khanong BTS station and a few stops away from the centre of Bangkok. Other stand-out aspects are delicious breakfasts, that are both tasty and Instagram-worthy, and the attention to detail in decoration, from vintage furniture to the “animal room”. Located in an old renovated commercial building, the Mustang Nero offers multiple rooms available to rent for varying prices. This No.1 room has recently increased in price to about $59 USD per night (plus Airbnb service fee), but is still great value.
